The Wyoming School Foundation Establishes Fund to Honor WSF Emeritus Trustees
In recognition of all of the Wyoming School Foundation’s Emeritus Trustees, the Foundation has established the Emeritus Trustees Fund to recognize the distinguished service, leadership and dedication of those individuals who have been awarded this honor. Donations made to the Emeritus Trustees Fund gratefully acknowledge these individuals, and will be used to carry out the mission of the Wyoming School Foundation, supporting the tradition of excellence in education for every Wyoming student.
The position of Emeritus Trustee was established in 2000 by the Wyoming School Foundation Board of Trustees. It is the highest organizational honor to demonstrate the Foundation’s respect for long-term, significant leadership of a Trustee whose vision, devotion and commitment have been central to the growth of the Foundation, and on whose efforts we stand and reach for the future.
In over fifty years of the Wyoming School Foundation’s history, only seven Trustees have earned the esteemed distinction Emeritus Trustee:
Frank T. Purdy, first president and initial signer of the Articles of Incorporation of the Wyoming School Foundation (1965).
Harry J. Weaks, third president (1971), and initial signer of the Articles of Incorporation (1965) of the Wyoming School Foundation.
Dorothy F. Mantel, long-time treasurer and Trustee of the Wyoming School Foundation, and one if its most significant innovators and leaders.
Terry G. Marty, seventh president and long-time Trustee of the Wyoming School Foundation who led the Board of Education and Foundation in the 1996 reactivation of the Foundation into a pro-active fundraising and endowment arm of the Wyoming City Schools.
Dorothy Lang, for many years of dedicated service to the Wyoming School Foundation in innovative fundraising, devotion and consistent and energetic volunteer-readiness over.
Scott Crooks, eighth president of the Wyoming School Foundation (2001) who provided invaluable legal counsel and creation of nearly all central infrastructure documents for the Wyoming School Foundation’s core strength and future operations.
Peter Guggenheim, sixteenth president of the Wyoming School Foundation who successfully led the capital campaign for the Wyoming Middle School, raising $1.2 million in contributions.
The Wyoming School Foundation is privileged to recognize these individuals who have given extraordinary support to the Foundation, and have offered their time, talents, and professional expertise on the Foundation’s behalf.
During the Foundation’s annual fundraising event, Feast & Fantasy, which is Saturday, February 4, 2017, at the Glendale Lyceum, a special appeal will be held to give guests the opportunity to make a gift in support of The Emeritus Trustee Fund. All funds raised will directly benefit the immediate needs of Wyoming City Schools.
