The Wyoming community is saddened by the loss of Marie King Johnson. She died peacefully in her sleep on the evening of June 16th, 2020. She was 92 years old. Marie is survived by her husband of 41 years, James Mussey Johnson, Jr and by her daughter Devon King Lee, WHS Class of 1972. Known to many as “Mrs. King,” she inspired generations of students at Wyoming High School with her rigorous teachings in Biology and Anatomy. Marie was a remarkable teacher who took a personal interest in her students and their education. Many students credit their decision to go into the medical field specifically back to their academic growth and learning experience under Marie King Johnson.
