Randy Susskind '85 is Deputy Director of Equal Justice Initiative (EJI) in Montgomery, Alabama. EJI is a non-profit organization that provides legal representation to people who have been illegally convicted, unfairly sentenced, or abused in state jails and prisons. Randy represents people sentenced to death and children sentenced to life in prison without possibility of parole. His representation involves trial level and appellate advocacy in both state and federal court, including cases before the United States Supreme Court. He teaches and advises law students and assists lawyers throughout the country in capital litigation. Additionally, he manages several of EJI’s public education projects and programs.
Randy, joined by family and friends, will be welcomed at the Distinguished Alumni reception on Sunday, October 22. Randy will address the entire high school student body at an assembly on Foundation Day on October 23, where he will share his particular story of success, highlighting his background, experiences, and accomplishments. After the assembly, Randy will meet with a smaller group of students for a question-and-answer discussion.
The Distinguished Alumni Award recognizes alumni who have made significant contributions to society, and whose accomplishments, affiliations, and careers have honored the legacy of excellence of Wyoming Schools.
