The WHS Marching Band playing at Friday football games in the fall is a tradition that stands the test of time. Even if you haven’t been to a football game, chances are you’ve heard the band’s music being carried by the wind far beyond the stadium lights.
The Marching Band and Drumline perform regularly throughout the fall and winter for both the school and community at pep rallies, the homecoming parade, and community events like the Fall Festival. The instruments were well used, and it was time for replacements.
With support from the Foundation, the band department will be able to replace the much-needed percussion equipment over a period of two years. Given the tremendous visibility of the Marching Band and Drumline, hearing the students playing their new instruments this fall will be music to our ears.
