The Wyoming School Foundation values their strong bond with Wyoming alumni. As long-term stakeholders of our schools, alumni have been some of the Foundation’s most loyal supporters since its inception. In fact, the Foundation was started in 1965 when a small group of alumni and citizens answered a request from the superintendent for additional funding for our schools. Over 50 years later with both community and alumni support, the Foundation remains a significant source of both long-term and immediate funding for our District.
Realizing that both organizations share similar missions, values, and future vision for the Wyoming City Schools, forming a partnership was not a new idea. “In 2014, the Presidents of the WSF & WHSAA felt it was time to collaborate and share their similar missions to enhance both organizations and agreed to a formal Affiliation,” says Jim Barre, WHSAA President. Since then, the two organizations have shared a harmonious relationship, increasingly working together on projects, events, and outreach.
